The Gift Shop: Henry Art Gallery, Seattle
November 19, 2009 · Leave a Comment
The Gift Shop Presents: Presents opens Friday, November 20 and runs through December 13 at the Henry Art Gallery in Seattle. If you find yourself in Seattle, check it out. I sent a “gift” up to the Gift Shop. You can make a gift, bring it in and exchange it for one in the shop. The project is an on-going series of artist-initiated shows at the gift shop in the Henry, which was not being used. Seattle artist Matthew Offenbacher proposed to do a series of exhibitions in the space, which will continue through January 31, 2010. The current present exchange project is Sol Hashemi, Jason Hirata and Claire Cowie’s contribution to the Gift Shop series of shows.

New Book: Faces
September 18, 2009 · Leave a Comment
I made a new book for Write Around Portland’s fundraiser taking place at Design Within Reach on October 3. They will auction off books or journals made by artists and others in support of their programs. The books/journals will be on display at Design Within Reach (NW 12th and Everett) in Portland beginning Sept. 26 with bid sheets. Check them out if you have the chance. Here are some images of the creation of my book “Faces”:

Here I am pairing the face images for opposing pages

Hello and welcome: this webpage consists of images of my artwork for those who are interested and for curators to view if I am applying for shows at various worldwide locations (or in Portland). Maybe I will also write a few notes and such.
Art images are in the links above, organized by medium (Painting, Sculpture, etc.) – or if you want to see all artwork images you can simply click on “All Work” and scroll away.
There are other informational links above: About, Bio, Studio Views, Notebook etc. – check ‘em out! And to the right in the “Links” column I will post some links to JB art-related videos and interviews.
Thanks for looking. Ciao! – JB
